Why are some people so LOUD?!

·         They don’t know they are loud because they are hard of hearing.
·         They don’t know they are loud because they are self absorbed/insensitive to their surroundings.
·         They don’t know they are loud because they are self absorbed/insensitive to their surroundings—AND THEY ARE HARD OF HEARING!
I’ve been too loud.  It was because I was self absorbed at the time of said loudness.
It’s embarrassing for someone to tell us “Shhh!  You’re way too loud right now!”
Embarrassing.
So.
What do we do to keep from being WAY TOO LOUD?!
·         We care, first of all.  Some of us just don’t care.  “That just how I am. That’s just how I talk!  Deal with it.”
(Until a whole group of self absorbed LOUDIES get together.  Now that’s a different story entirely!)
·         We get out of our heads.  Our very own inner reality TV shows where we are SUPER STARS!!!
---So interesting that just EVERY BODY wants to hear what we’re saying on our cell phones.
---Or how witty and smart allicky we can be when we’re disciplining our children!
“Excuse me?  What did you just say to me?  I KNOW you didn’t just get THAT tone with ME MISTER MAN!  I’ll slap you so hard you’ll forget who you are!”
“Wow,” the onlookers say (in MS. LOUDY’S IMAGINATION,) “that mother is SO WITH IT!”
In reality,
Few, if any, in the grocery store even notice MS. LOUDY’S reality show audition AT ALL!  Why?
·         Because they are SELF ABSORBED, AND INSENSITIVE TO THEIR SURROUNDINGS!
·         Or simply focused on their purpose: To buy groceries, not audition for reality TV.
2.  The few who do notice her  just want her to BE QUIET!
So, we care.  We accept reality:  It’s not all about you or ME!
When we do that, then we’ll talk on our cell phones only  loud enough for the person we’re  talking to hear us, AND NO ONE ELSE!
If we’re disciplining our child, we’ll do it at home, or quietly in the van, or discreetly in the store, to honor our child’s dignity, BECAUSE IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU OR ME!
This was written to all the loudies, and loudies in training.
You know who you are.
WE ALL DO!
