God, The Man, and the Seductress (Part 2)

Hello.
It’s me.
Oh, so now we can talk, on your terms.
(Silence)
Hello?
I’m here.
What do you want!?
What do you want Teinya?
What do you mean?
What do you want in life?
I thought that was obvious.
It’s not.
(She was silent.  She didn’t know what to make of this.)
Why are you doing this to me?
I love you.  I want to marry you, but before I can, I have to know what you live for, and what you’re willing to die for.
(This, more than anything, disarmed her.  She silently shed tears of deep passionate love for him.  But she stopped her tears.)
Didn’t we meet at church?  Wasn’t I with you in all of the activities and ministries we did in our community?
(For reasons unknown to him, their having met at church caused him a great deal of mental confusion.  It was as if this made him feel foolish for his questioning of her purpose.  Maybe it was obvious.)
Does community service and church attendance make her My eternal daughter and your eternal sister?
(It evaporated!  The fog of obscurity that covered his head with her question was gone, and a clarity so pure permeated him that he vowed to never let it go.  Ever.)
Teinya, if you were to die tonight, and God asked you, “Why should I let you into heaven, what would you say?”
“HOW DARE YOU ASK ME THAT!”
(The venom in her tone was stunning.  The voice behind her voice was like the eyes behind her eyes that day when she looked out of her window.  He knew what to do.)
Teinya, hold on for a minute.
(Manuel put the phone down, left the room, and spoke these words:)
Spirit of Pride, I know you.  I used to serve you.  I now serve the Lord.  Leave Teinya’s mind and emotions.  Let her be free to think for herself.  You control her in the way you attempt to control me through her.  You are my enemy, not Teinya.  The Spirit in me commands you.  Leave.
He picked up the phone.  “I’m back Teinya.”
“I’m so sorry Manuel.  I don’t know why I got so mad, or why I sometimes get so mad at you.  I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
She cried so very bitterly that it broke him…
