The Voice of God (Part 3)

I thought about the crossroad of my life, the decision, the will of God, the voice of God, having heard His will by His Spirit. But how could I know I heard Him right?  My life, and my families life were in the balance.

How do you know the difference between my voice, your voice, and Satan’s voice?

I know my voice because I have control over it by my will.  I choose to speak or not to speak.

Exactly. Your will.  You know you because of your will.  Do you want the truth or not?

Yes, I can sincerely say I want the truth. 

So you don’t want to make believe that you are talking  to God?  You don’t want to call your imaginary friend the God of Israel?  You don’t want to deceive yourself or anyone else?

No.  Not at all.  If we are not meant to hear your voice today, and meant only to use “holy common sense,” if that were the truth, I’d want it.  No matter how badly I want us to converse intimately. 

You want the truth.  You know this because you choose this, even if the truth goes against what you want?

Exactly.

Do I want the truth?

Yes.  Your Son is the way, the truth and the life, and he came into the world to bear witness to the truth.  He said all who are of the truth hear his voice.

Are you of the truth?

Yes!

Then you hear his voice.  Is the devil of the truth?

No, he is the father of lies who speaks lies as a native language.

Then you know the difference between your voice and mine and the devil’s because of your will.  You want the truth, no matter what it is.  I am the truth and speak only the truth.  The devil is the liar and speaks only lies and deceptions, promoting false assumptions.  So, you choose whether you will hear and know my voice or not by choosing to be committed to truth.  If you are committed to the truth as a choice of your will, you will hear my voice and shun Satan’s voice.
