The Day We All Meet God

“Our Father in heaven, Your Name is hallowed.  Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  The Beginning of The Prayer Jesus Taught His Followers.
One day we will all meet God.
It is today as it will be that day.

He will be pleased with some of us and displeased with others.  There won’t be any debating His existence or any other “theological issues.”  No more “bible studies.”  No more “debates.”  We will see and know Reality face to face, and we will see and know ourselves and every one else.  Good will be clearly known and evil will be clearly shown.  Those in heaven will want to be there, and those in hell will want to stay there.  So much so that if they had a holiday like in C.S. Lewis’ “The Great Divorce,” where they could leave hell, go to heaven, and remain in heaven, they’d either not make the trip to heaven at all, or choose to leave heaven and go back to hell.

This is how things are now, though we don’t see them as clearly.

We should.

It should be just as clear now that God exists, that some of us please him, and that others displease him.  The people of heaven and hell are just as distinct now.

So why don’t we see this?  Why don’t we see the truth as clearly as we will see it?
We don’t want to.

We don’t obey Jesus.
We don’t pray the prayer He taught us.
